BBC News report on Woodburners

In an extract from the BBC NEWS website on 14th Jan 19 by Matt McGrath Environment correspondent he said: ‘Most people don't realise that a wood burning stove emits more particles per hour than a diesel truck’. Well, I would like to just prove that this statement is incorrect, you can see from this chart below. You can also see how much more eco-friendly a stove is compared to an open fire. In fact, the more recent ECOdesignready models produce even less than this. Your Useful Wood Ash!

Do you recycle? ♻ Well instead of throwing away all your wood ash sprinkle it all over your flower beds and lawns including your veggie patches (not your potatoes though!!) Give your borders and pots a minerals boost and make tea for your Tomatoes! Read this article from The Washington Post, I found it most interesting. If you need an ash carrier, bucket or shovel do pop in or call as we have several different types to make transporting your ash a little easier. TOP TIP: Get a damp cloth or kitchen roll and dab it into your ashes to use as an environmentally friendly stove glass cleaner! Happy firing 😍
