Ecodesign Ready stoves are designed to reduce PM emissions by burning wood more efficiently and completely. New legislation states that all new stove or fire sales from 2022 will need to be Ecodesign models. If you are looking to buy a stove now you do NOT have to buy an 'Eco-design ready' stove as the law doesn't come into effect until January 2022 but some models are already available and The Stove House are happy to talk you through these stoves along with our other models from our wide range. Here The Stove House opened up a disused fireplace and installed a Dik Geurts Aste 5 Low woodburning stove with a honed black slate hearth. With a heat output of 4.9 kW, it can easily heat a large room, but its low emissions qualify it for DEFRA approval in smokeless zones which means no additional air supply was required to the room.
